Halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox, Imbolc marks the beginning of a pagan spring – a time to stoke the inner fire and prepare the metaphysical soil for the seeds of a new cycle.

As always, we aim to create a space where festival meets ritual – an opportunity to feel, play, connect and grow, and link the South Australian collective with the wider Australian music community.

Imbolc is an exploration of the darker realms – the primordial depths, the numinous void, the roots, the womb, the rich black soil. The music will, at times, feel dark and intense. We do not invoke malevolent darkness, but honour the organic darkness from which all life emerges. Our lineups are curated to reflect and facilitate a larger journey across the three days and three nights.

This is the final chapter of Imbolc in its current form. The last year of this four year cycle. We’ve honoured Air, Fire and Earth, and this year we are tempering the Fire Horse energy with a focus on the final element – Water.

We'll be taking a break next year, as we explore how the next iteration will unfurl. The end, for now, but not forever…
